Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome (OHS)
A morbidly obese man with obesity hypoventilation syndrome (OHS) was admitted to the hospital in acute respiratory failure. The patient was intubated and placed on mechanical ventilation for three days. He was stabilized and his respiratory status returned to baseline. The patient was discharged home with portable oxygen and BiPAP machine for night use. How should this case be coded?
