Question
Is CPT code gender specific?
AMA Comment
From a CPT coding perspective, there is nothing in CPT code 51840 that designates gender. Therefore, from that standpoint, it would be appropriate to use the code to report a simple anterior vesicourethropexy or urethropexy, regardless of whether performed on a female or male patient.
